What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and is a way for customer to receive a monthly “share” of our farm’s harvest. Customers sign up for the share size that fits their family’s needs and have it conveniently delivered right to their neighborhood once a month. This is a great way to ensure your family is fully stocked with sustainable food all year round.
Why join the CSA when I can just order from the website?
By joining the CSA you save money and ensure a regular delivery of pasture-raised food right to your neighborhood, making healthy eating easy. Your also have a guaranteed supply. Your entire subscription is reserved for you when you sign up so even if we sell out of product on our website, your chicken is still reserved and ready for you.
Where are the pickup locations?
We currently have pickup locations in the Twin Cities (Bloomington, Northeast Minneapolis and Uptown), Rochester, Spring Grove and Winona. If you would like to host a pickup location, reach out to us at info@gfamilyfarm.com. We need a minimum of 5 members to start a new pickup location.
What about home delivery?
We are offering delivery to your doorstep in certain areas in and around Minneapolis and southeast Minnesota. See if we deliver to your area! You can find the list of zip codes where we deliver at this link.
Do the pickup times and locations change?
We try to keep our pickup times and locations consistent as much as possible. If for some reason a location or time needed to be changed, we would notify all members via email, phone or physical mail prior to the change.
Do I have to sign up for a 6 or 12 month share right away?
Committing to 6 or 12 months can feel intimidating and if you aren’t sure, there’s no hurry. We want this to be a good fit for you. Check out our 1 month test share to see if CSA fits your needs.
What happens if I have to miss a pickup?
If you need to skip a pickup for any reason there are options. You can either have a friend or family member pick it up for you, donate it to our local food shelf or delay delivery for a month. Delaying delivery simply extends your subscription by an extra month so you still have the same number of deliveries.
Can I cancel my subscription if it’s not working for me?
Yes, there is always the option to cancel your subscription. However, due to the amount of planning and preparation required for each share we strive to keep cancellations to a minimum. We ask that you please call us at 507-822-7035 or email us at ellen@gfamilyfarm.com if you need to cancel for any reason.
